Herndl’s work takes the historical approach to observational painting as a means to find rapport with place. Much of his work happens on site; this painting, Isolation View, 60x45 inches, oil on canvas was made on site over 10 days at Francis King Park near Victoria BC at the outset of the Pandemic. For more information about Herndl’s process please see this recent article from Victoria News.
In an effort to help the Ancient Forest Alliance, half of the proceeds from the sale of this painting will be donated to help support their important work to preserve what little remains of the old growth forest and promote a sustainable forestry industry.
